High buttoned boots were the fashion in the late 1800's and button hooks became a necessity for fashionable women of the day. This hook is the loop type and has Walk Over Shoes embossed on one side and Polish and laces on the other side.

Glove Darner

This is from a day when little was thrown away including gloves with holes in the fingers. The little darner was pushed up into the glove finger and then a delicate patch was woven across the hole. The darner is made of plastic and is 4 1/2" long.

Sewing Basket

This is a great old basket that was being used as a sewing basket when I purchased it. The basket is in good condition with only a few areas of wear in the weave. The basket has a nice patina with areas of wear through the dark original stain. The basket is 11" long, 8" wide and 10" high.

Wooden Sewing Box

This home made bird sewing box probably dates from the 1930's or 1940's. No doubt made for a wife or mom. The box is 9 1/2" tall to the top of the bird, 6" long by 3 1/2" wide and has a drawer. The scissors are marked Puriton USA .
