This interesting bucket came from the Boston area and was used in the 1800's by the 75 year old sellers great aunt. The bucket has been used to heat water or cook over a fire, the bottom shows the fire marks. The center of the bottom has been cleaned to show a makers mark that can't be well seen but is the H. W. Haydens Ansonia Brass Co. It has a hand forged iron handle. The mark does show the dates 1851 and 1865 The 8 3/4" high and 12 1/4" in diameter bucket has not been cleaned and has a nice age patina.
