Venetian Quilted Diamond Compote
This clear glass compote was free-blown in two parts and has a diamond pattern in the bowl and foot. There are gold flakes embedded in the glass. This is a beautiful example of the Murano glassblower's art and probably dates from 1890 to 1910. The compote is 8 1/2" tall, 13" in diameter at the rim and the base is 7 1/4" in diameter. There is a pontil mark under the base and in the bowl.
